1) Don't count out the Jayhawks come tournament time. They have a multitude of scoring options from POY candidate Thomas Robinson, Tyshawn Taylor, Travis Relaford, Elijah Johnson and Withy. Outside punch with Teahan to consider as well.
2) Bill Self is an underrated coach. When people talk about the best coaches in the Country his name doesn't come up enough. There were some great moves made against the Baylor zone and the Kansas players knew to a man where to attack. Great preparation.
3) Baylor goes as Quincy Acy goes. Acy is not the most talented of the Bears but he provides a toughness and confidence. The game turned at the end of the first half when Acy was out.
4) A January loss is sometimes the best thing you can have for your season. It grabs attention to some of the forgotten details and refocuses the team. Nothing builds chemistry like adversity and battling through it. For Jackson and Miller, this was the first time they are playing in this type of environment, they will grow from it.
The tape doesn't lie, poor shot selection and outside shots in particular ignited the Kansas break which Baylor did not do a good job with transition defense. Kansas was the aggressor and often that is rewarded.
5) Perry Jones will be a lottery pick and for good reason. He is not the best player in college basketball.
Jones will continue to evolve into a tremendous talent one day but he is just scratching the surface on his game. He lacks the confidence and the ability to dominate. Jones needs sets to be successful. On the next level, Jones's game will translate.
Last night, Thomas Robinson was on a mission to separate himself as Player of the Year and he delivered.
